Man in the Snow is Greg Kristapovich

“It’s horrible! I don’t appreciate it at all. I grew up here, and it’s just not fun to me anymore. It’s cold, wet and I’m done! Am I prepared for all this? Yeah, I grew up here. You have to be prepared for it; but, it still sucks. I like the spring, when it’s not too hot, not too cold.” – Daniel Ballowe, Twain Harte, (cook)

“I think it’s wonderful; spectacular, even! I like having seasons, and this is one of my favorites! I’ve been living up here for 30 years. I prepare every winter, for this potential. Just make sure you have plenty of extra water at your house. Some good, dried beans or rice would be handy, too. It isn’t often like this, but I’m really enjoying the beautiful, white, clean snow! My favorite season? Spring, truly, when you see all of the blessings that come from this kind of weather: the beautiful flowers, green bushes. I’m just really glad we’re getting a lot of snow and rain. It’ll make next summer safer. We might not have so much in the way of fire.” – Suzi Crise, Twain Harte, (administrative support)

“We are snow-packed to fill our reservoirs! Hopefully, those who manage our water levels won’t release it; and instead, try to fill our reservoirs as full as possible to take care of our water needs for the summer. This weather’s beautiful! Its great conditions! We’re finally getting the snowfall we’ve needed!” respondent exclaimed as he munched on some fresh snow. “And yeah, I’m prepared. I’ve got plenty of wood, and I’m cozy warm! I do like summers, ‘cause I’ve got a watercraft. But I do like to ski, and I’ve got a season pass at Dodge Ridge. I’ve gone four times already. Two more times, and I’ll have my season pass ‘paid off’”! – Randy Ray, Mi-Wuk Vilage, (yardwork)

“It’s wonderful weather! It’s phenomenal! But as for the transit service, you don’t know whether you can depend on it. They do have chains on their tires, but, at times they can’t go further up to Sierra Village. This snow is good for Dodge Ridge! It’s good for our business (Pinecone Café); when we have a lot of skiers going (through)! I’ve been here for four months. I was in Germany for eight years, and I adapt to this fairly well – even if I have to walk a distance through the snow! I’ve got my snow boots, my jackets. However, summer is my favorite season. It’s nice and warm and you can get out and about more. You can enjoy swimming, baseball and barbeques!” – Monica Sarte, Mi-Wuk Village, (hostess)

“It’s definitely snowing! Skiing should be good, so I’m looking forward to that! Yes, I’m prepared for the winter. I have a heater in my house and a 4-wheel drive. Luckily I don’t have to put on chains. I’ve got warm clothes. I had a full beard, but I shaved that off. But maybe, with this storm, it would have been nicer to have a beard! It would have been a little warmer. My face is a little cold, now. And I’d have to say that spring would be my favorite month – for good mountain-biking and good wind-surfing, in Rio Vista, mostly.” – Evan Bozarth, Long Barn, (ski patrol)
