WATCH ‘Aktion’ Club Helps Students
WATCH ‘Aktion’ Club, an affiliate of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Sonora, helped raise money for Black Oak School Students. “Our mission is to help the community,” said Kathy Spires, club advisor. “Our club has decided to adopt a classroom each year and this year we chose the 2nd grade class of Mrs. Stapp at Black Oak School (pictured above). For the past 6 months our club raised money from bake sales (about $100) for this project. We purchased footballs, basketballs, soccer balls, jump ropes, ball pumps and pencils for the kids. On November 16th we delivered the gifts to the class. The kids and teacher were very excited to get the gifts. We spent some time playing with the kids on the playground then they read stories to us. It was a very rewarding project. We all felt that we had contributed to the kids in a special way.”
