Man on the Street is Greg Kristapovich
“If YOU could ask Santa for ANYTHING this Christmas, what would it be?”
(asked in Murphys)
“A Quad-runner – because of our nice, “White Christmases” we’ve been having! I need to be able to get out when it snows at my place! At 2,000 feet, and with eight inches of snow and ice, I was stuck in there for four days! I don’t want a big 4-wheel drive, just something small. I’d also like a cord of wood that I didn’t get this year. I’ve got a little wood right now, but I’ve just been bundling up.” – Richard Ingram, Murphys (janitor)
“I would ask Santa for a job. I need a job but desperately. I’ve been out of work for five months. I would just want a job. I’m a dishwasher, a prep cook, with over ten year’s experience. It’s been pure Hell for the last five months: There are no jobs to be had in a twenty mile radius. But I’m not going to give up.” – Steve Buckley, Murphys (seeking employment)
“In addition to world peace, a new tractor, so I can push my old backhoe and part tractor over the bluff. I do have a very old Ford tractor that’s in pieces. So I have no tractor at all except for my little riding lawnmower. My new tractor also needs a backhoe thing so I can dig holes. It also needs to pull the Brush Hog so I can cut the weeds. I have 43 acres of weeds like star thistle – which is why I need to use a Brush Hog!” – Terry Osborne, Murphys, (wine host and official wine taster)
“A Camero, like in the movie Transformers; but I want mine to be black with glitter seats! Yeah, glitter seats! Like studded little diamonds on the seats! This Camero would cost, maybe, a few million dollars, but I can get it if Santa will give it to me! But seriously, for Christmas, I just want my sister, Raven, to come down from Arizona; and for her dad to come with her. I haven’t seen them in quite a few years: Just all of us to be together. That would be nice!” – Chellae Garduno, Sonora, (waitress)
“I would ask Santa for no more foreclosures. But if I could have one thing “under my tree” it would be a 42” flat screen TV so I could watch my 49er’s lose. (She breaks out into a big laugh). I hope they don’t lose anymore, but they’re kind of ‘out’ now. I’m going to root for the Vikings now, ‘cause my people are from there. Although I’m still rooting for the Chargers. They’re my ‘back up’ team for California!” – Nancy Summerlin, Arnold, (sales associate)
