Hot Apple Orange Cider

(Some parental supervision required)

A soothing hot after-school drink on a cool fall day.

You will need:

4 cups apple juice or cider

2 tablespoons grenadine syrup

1 mounded teaspoon grated orange peel

Cinnamon sticks

Wash your hands well and read all the directions.

1. Measure the apple cider into an 8 cup measure or a 2-quart casserole.

2. Add the grenadine syrup.

3. Grate the orange peel with the small grater and add to the cider mixture.

4. Cover tightly and microwave on high 6 to 9 minutes or until hot.

5. Pour into mugs.

6. Stir and serve with a cinnamon stick.
