It may be true: neither of the event’s musical performers, Crazy Ivan, nor the Blues Box Bayou Band is German. But then, you don’t have to be German to enjoy Twain Harte’s Annual Oktoberfest, October 3rd and 4th!
There will be a German “feel” throughout Eproson Park, however, with beer, German food, and German automobiles! “We will have eight micro-beers, ‘Oktober” beers – not something you can buy in the markets,” explains Becky Halvorsen, president of the Twain Harte Chamber of Commerce. “It’s something that you can get just at Oktoberfest! Also, seven restaurants will provide foods during the beer tasting!” During Saturday’s tasting, you buy your mug, which comes with coupons that allow you to sample the beers and enjoy the food, as well! Then, on Sunday, wine tasting will take place! Through the tasting activities, the Twain Harte Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund benefits! A very interesting Oktoberfest is anticipated!
Rock out with Crazy Ivan!
“Anybody who has a Volkswagen, new or old (show quality) can bring it to Oktoberfest, to display with the other German cars!” says Becky. “But, if you bring your car, please, also bring two cans of food. Those two cans will go to ATCAA (Amador/Tuolumne/Calaveras Action Agency) food bank! The Oktoberfest will also have dozens of artisans displaying and selling their unique jewelry, pottery and fine art!
Get down and funky with the Blues Box Bayou Band!
The entertainment will also be top-notch! “Crazy Ivan’s on Saturday,” says Richard Burleigh, promoter with Fire on the Mountain Free Festivals, which is working with the Twain Harte Chamber of Commerce to present the festival. “Crazy Ivan plays the hits of the ‘70s and ‘80s; with Greg Noll being one of the best rock and roll guitar players in the area! And, they’re a lot of fun!” Burleigh exclaims. “Blues Box Bayou Band is a Cajun/Zydeco band which has played a lot of festivals across Northern California, with their fun, dance music!” Comic Juggler Mitchell Barrett is hilarious and entertaining, to say the least! Folks come from all over California to the Twain Harte Oktoberfest! And, until you’ve gone there, you truly haven’t lived!
