Its Not You…Its Me!
New York, NY – If you’ve just escaped from the cops after stealing two bottles of malt liquor from a deli, you probably shouldn’t yell “It was me you idiots, you have the wrong guy” out your window when you see them leading someone else away. Maybe his conscience got the best of him, but this is what a thief shouted from his apartment window as police led an innocent man to the scene of the crime. At 1:45 a.m. the thief had swiped two bottles of Olde English malt liquor and tried to walk out of the store. When the owner stopped him, he pulled out a knife and fled. Cops followed the thief all the way to his nearby seventh-floor apartment, but when a different man answered the door, officers accidentally grabbed him instead. As the innocent man was being led down the street, the “thief”, who for some reason wanted credit for his failed attempt, opened his window and began his rant. He was soon arrested and charged with robbery, weapon possession and menacing.
Accidental Break In
Pittsburgh, PA – Most people breaking into banks tend to do it on purpose…but this was not the case for an unfortunate intoxicated man in Pittsburgh, who tripped and fell through the glass window of a downtown bank. A witness said the man lost his balance and fell into the window with enough force to break it, and the man crashed through the bottom half of a tall rectangular window…giving a new meaning to “breaking into a bank.” Despite falling through the window, the man did not sustain any major injuries, although the top half of the glass slid downward and narrowly missed hitting the man’s neck. When police arrived at the scene they found the man lying amongst the shards of glass with a bottle of Vodka nearby. Although it was only 1 p.m., the man was extremely drunk and officers described the man as combative and took him to a nearby hospital.
Drive-Thru Get-A-Way
Bardstown, KY – Most people driving through a drive-thru bank are after one thing – money – but a Kentucky man found a unique way of getting it after giving the teller a UPS package with a note on it saying it had a bomb inside. Unless he received some cash, the bomb would explode. The 78-year-old’s scam was a success and made off with some cash. When police arrived they discovered that the package was safe and soon were on the hunt for the senior citizen, who was arrested the next day. The man is charged with first-degree robbery and theft and is being held in the local jail.
