After a year and a half of hearings and appeals, the Murphys Historic Hotel in downtown Murphys is finally getting its new neon sign. The residents of Murphys will finally raise a toast to the sign on Saturday, March 7th at 7 p.m. during Murphys Hotel’s Neon Sign “Light Up Night” Celebration. The builder, Sandy Gulch Sign from West Point, erected the controversial pole and sign on Wednesday, March 4. All are welcome to attend the lighting of the neon sign and t-shirts will be available as a memento of this event for $20 as well as the hotel’s famous historic drink, the Frog’s Ass.
