Groveland Goes Green!

On Friday, January 23, Tioga High School in Groveland will have a new learning experience on “Going Green”. Michael Malloy of Big Oak Flat will join Jerry Asher of Bisbee Arizona to talk about the benefits of Going Green. Mr. Malloy will speak about the benefits of Biofuel and the environment and “EV Jerry” Asher will speak about electric vehicles and bring his “SPIRIT OF DC” Prius for the audience to experience.
“EV Jerry” Asher is on a mission. He started last year on Earth Day leaving the National Mall in Washington D.C. His goal, crossing the entire United States in his 100% EV (Electric vehicle) Prius that he converted. “EVJerry” is on the road promoting the vehicle of the future and educating America, one state at a time. Asher stated recently “We can get energy independence back for America.” Asher is referring to other types of energy as well as electric cars. These include the utilization of solar, wind and hydro-electric power. Asher is planning to complete his tour by displaying the Spirit of DC on April 18-20, 2009 at the Environmental Protection Agency’s 5th National Sustainable Design Expo, on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Asher will be stopping over in Groveland with the “Spirit” for a visit at Tioga High School on January 23rd at 1 p.m. This event will not only educate our students, but anyone interested is welcome to attend.
